Objective : The two years Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree in Diplomacy conducted by The Global Open University, Nagaland has been designed for meeting the demand of the growing needs of experts in the fields of diplomacy in general and diplomatic strategy, diplomatic resolution of problems, informal diplomacy, paradiplomacy, cultural diplomacy, preventing diplomacy, public diplomacy, transformational diplomacy, economic diplomacy, citizen diplomacy, diplomatic law etc. in particular.

Eligibility : Graduates of any discipline Duration : Two years

Award : Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree with specialisation in Diplomacy shall be awarded to all the successful candidates by The Global Open University Nagaland.

Careers in Diplomacy

Diplomatic rights were established in the 17th century in Europe and have spread through out the world. These rights were formalised by the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which protects diplomats from being persecuted or prosecuted while on a diplomatic mission. Diplomatic communications are also viewed as sacrosanct and diplomats have long being allowed to carry documents across borders without being searched. Radio and digital communication have become more standard for embassies. Nations sometimes resort to international arbitration when faced with a specific question or point of contention in need of resolution. Formal and Informal Diplomats are in great demand if they have acquired expert knowledge of diplomacy.

Total Fee : Rs. 28,150

Accordingly, the Application Form duly filled-in along with four stamp size photographs, copies of certificates and mark sheets and a Bank Draft for the full fee i.e. Rs. 28,150 in the name of “The Global Open University, Nagaland” payable at Dimapur must reach the Admissions Officer, The Global Open University, Nagaland” payable at Dimapur must reach the Admissions Officer, The Global Open University, Sodzulhou Village, P.O. – ARTC, NH-39, Dimapur – 797115 Nagaland by registered / speed post only.

Examination Fee : A fee of Rs. 300 per paper is to be paid before appearing in the Annual Examinations to be held at different Examination Centers within the State of Nagaland (Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha).

Master’s Thesis : All students are required to submit a Master’s Thesis at the end of second year.

Assignments : All admitted participants must submit subjectwise assignments based on the Mini Project Reports to be prepared by them on a topic related to each of the subjects.
