Objective : The three years Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) Degree being conducted by The Global Open University, Nagaland has been designed for meeting the demand of the growing needs of experts in the fields of information technology and management, computer programming, internet operations, computer applications, business communication, logic design, data structure, systems analysis computer architecture, windows and server administration, data base management etc.
Eligibility : 10+2 in any discipline
Duration : 3 years
Award : Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) Degree shall be awarded to all the successful candidates by The Global Open University, Nagaland.

Study Materials : Printed lessons will be despatched from the Central Despatch Unit. The assignments will also be sent to the admitted participants periodically. These assignments will be completed by the participants as an integral part of the BCA Degree.
Total Fee for all the Six Semesters : Rs. 38,550
Accordingly, the Admission Form duly filled-in along with four stamp size photographs, copies of certificates and mark sheets and a Bank Draft for the full fee, i.e. Rs. 38,550 in the name of “The Global Open University, Nagaland, ” payable at Dimapur must reach the Admissions Officer, The Global Open University, Sodzulhou Village, P.O. – ARTC, NH-39, Dimapur – 797115 Nagaland by speed post only.
Examination Fee : A fee of Rs. 300 per paper is to be paid before appearing in the Annual Examinations to be held at different Examination Centers within the State of Nagaland (Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha).
Careers in Computer Applications and Software Engineering Industry
The BCA Degree offered at The Global Open University Nagaland is having the latest curriculum related to Computer Applications syllabus at the Bachelor’s level with the view to preparing software professionals for catering to the IT and the Software Industry in all developed countries of the world. The curriculum and the study materials are revised and updated every six months for the inclusion of the latest trends in computer industry. Accordingly assistance and advice are sought on a continuing basis from the industry for knowing and assessing their requirements. The Central and the State Governments, Public and Private Sector Organisations, Industrial Houses, Educational Establishments including Universities, Colleges, Schools and other Institutions are supported through out the year for ensuring that the students optimise their knowledge regarding the effective use of computing facilities by designing and providing software solutions for national development and bringing computers even in the remote villages in all States and Union Territories.
Confirmation of Admission : The Admissions Office will issue the money receipt and send confirmation letters to all admitted participants within ten days from the date of the receipt of completed applications along with first instalment of fee and copies of certificates and testimonials.
Project Work : All admitted participants will be required to complete Mini Projects for each of the subjects of the BCA Degree on a relevant topic related to the concerned subject / paper in partial fulfilment for the requirements of the 30 marks allotted for assignments. The Mini Project Reports are to be submitted semesterwise. Accordingly four Mini Project Reports are to be submitted for each semester before appearing in the semester examination.
Bachelor’s Thesis : All admitted participants will be required to complete and submit a Bachelor’s Thesis on a relevant topic related to computer applications. The Bachelor’s Thesis based on the data collected from primary and secondary sources will be submitted for evaluation. Conducting and completing the Bachelor’s Thesis is an integral part of the BCA Degree programme. The topic of the Bachelor’s Thesis may be related to one of the following or allied subjects and areas although the topics are only illustrative and not exhaustive.
