Bachelor of Science (Prosthetics and Orthotics)
Objective : The three years Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics conducted by The Global Open University, Nagaland has been designed for meeting the demand of the growing needs of experts in the fields of prosthetics amputee rehabilitation, replacement of a missing body part, design, manufacture and application of orthoses.
Eligibility : 10+2 with science subject
Duration : Three years
Awards : Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics shall be awarded to the successful candidates.

Careers in Prosthetics and orthotics
A Prosthetist is a person who measures, designs, fabricates, fits, or services a prosthesis as prescribed by a Physician, and who assists in the formulation of the prosthesis prescription for the replacement of external parts of the human body. An Orthotist controls, guides and immobilize an extremity, joint or body segment besides rehabilitating from fractures. P&O Experts find immediate employment in hospitals.
Total Fee : Rs. 24,150
Accordingly, the Application Form duly filled-in along with four stamp size photographs, copies of certificates and mark sheets and a Bank Draft for the full fee i.e. Rs. 24,150 in the name of “The Global Open University, Nagaland” payable at Dimapur must reach the Admissions Officer, The Global Open University, Sodzulhou Village, NH-39, Dimapur – 797115 by registered post only.
Examination Fee : A fee of Rs. 300 per paper is to be paid before appearing in the Annual Examinations to be held at different Examination Centers within the State of Nagaland (Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha).
Attachment with Hospitals : All admitted students must be attached to a full fledged hospital having a pathological laboratory. Admissions will not be granted without such an attachment.
Assignments : All admitted participants must submit subject wise assignments based on the Mini Project Reports to be prepared by them on a topic related to each of the subjects.
