Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)

Objective : The one year Distance Learning M.Phil Degree conducted by The Global Open University, Nagaland has been designed for enabling the Master's Degree holders to acquire expert knowledge of research methodology and other advanced topics for being prepared to get registered in the Ph.D. Degree in the relevant Faculties and Departments.

Eligibility : Master of Arts / Science / Commerce / Management / Engg. / Medicine / Computer Science and Applications / Agriculture / Law / any other Master's Degree relevant to the M.Phil. Degree selected by the participant.

Duration : One year

Examination : To be conducted every year on 25-27 June and 29-31 December at Agartala, Aizawl, Allahabad, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Dimapur, Delhi, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Panaji, Port Blair, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Trivandrum, Varanasi, Wokha.

Award : Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Degree with specialisation in the relevant subject shall be awarded to all the successful candidates by The Global Open University, Nagaland. They will also be eligible for admission in Ph.D. Degree in the relevant Schools and Faculties at The Global Open University, Nagaland.
Teaching Methodology : The Spot Admission and Central Despatch Unit of The Global Open University, Nagaland will accord admission to the students and provide all facilities including counselling, identity cards, lessons, guidance, assignment sheets etc.

Medium of Instruction : The lessons are in English. However examinees can answer the questions and prepare the M.Phil Thesis either in English or in Hindi.

Tuition and Other Fee : The total fee for the one year distance learning M.Phil. Degree is Rs. 13,525 payable in three instalments. The first instalment of Rs. 4,525 is payable at the time of admission. The remaining two instalments of Rs. 4,500 is payable after six months and after twelve months. The details of fee to be paid by the participants of the one year M.Phil. are as follows :

Accordingly, the Application Form duly filled-in along with four stamp size photographs, copies of certificates and mark sheets and a Bank Draft for the first instalment of fee, i.e. Rs. 4,525 in the name of "The Global Open University, Nagaland" payable at Dimapur must reach the Admissions Officer, The Global Open University, Opposite Railway Station, Dimapur 797112, Nagaland.

Examination Fee : An Examination Fee of Rs. 150 per paper is payable for appearing in the M.Phil. Examination.
